Less than 14% of the 60,000 annual rounds played at Muny are played by residents from the same zip code. It serves 12+ area schools and the Austin Junior Golf Academy. Muny is the only 18 hole course in central Austin as well as the busiest in town. A wildlife sanctuary and water recharge zone, Muny is 97 years old and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its status as the first golf course to integrate in the south. Your contributions both small and large also make it possible for the Muny Conservancy to support long term oak preservation, scholarships for the Austin Junior Golf Academy and other urgent course needs. Once the land is obtained, the Conservancy will renovate and operate the property with new public amenities. The Muny Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to raise money for the purchase of the iconic 141-acre tract known as "Muny". There will be multiple opportunities to support the cause including a raffle, virtual silent auction, and commemorative merchandise available for purchase. In addition to a one-of-a-kind live music performance, and the participation of other special guests, attendees will learn about the vision to preserve and restore Lions Municipal Golf Course that the Austin community is fighting for.
